Retirement of Ms. Judy Fried, Diocesan Transition Ministry Officer and Secretary to Convention

Dear People of Central New York,

With both joy and sadness, I share with you the news that Judy Fried, our Transition Ministry Officer and Secretary to Convention, will retire on December 31, 2016.

Judy shared her intention to retire with Bishop Adams prior to the Special Election Convention. She then formally tendered her resignation following my arrival in Central New York, and has graciously agreed to stay on through the close of 2016 to support me and the Diocesan Board as we develop a transition plan.

Judy has been a valuable and faithful member of the Diocesan staff since 2002. In addition to serving as Transition Ministry Officer and Secretary of Convention, she is the staff liaison for the Ministry Support Committee, the Dayspring program, and the Transition Consultants. She has been instrumental in assisting dozens of Central New York parishes with leadership transitions, has brought many fine clergy to our diocese, and is well-respected among her peers in the wider Episcopal Church.

At our Diocesan Convention this weekend, we will formally recognize Judy’s contributions to this diocese and celebrate her transition. Please join me in thanking Judy for her service and dedication, and in wishing her and her family every blessing upon the joyful occasion of her retirement.

Faithfully,

DeDe+
The Very Rev. Dr. DeDe Duncan-Probe
Bishop-elect, Central New York
