Animal Blessings around the Diocese

There were several pet blessings held over the last few Sundays around the Diocese in celebration of the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, and we just couldn’t resist showing some of the adorable photos sent to us showcasing each of them. There are many blessed pets out there!  Above, The Rev. Brooks Cato, Rector at St. Thomas’ Church, Hamilton blesses a very proud pub on a beautiful fall day.

Below, The Rev. Philip Major is quite amused by the lovable golden retrievers at the pet blessing in Lemp Park in Syracuse.

Someone is certainly enjoying their blessing in Clinton, by The Rev. Gary Cyr.

Two sweet friends are given a special blessing in Windsor on a beautiful sunny day, by The Rev. Janet Watrous.

The Rev. Glen Mahaffey, Priest-in-Charge leads a blessing for the animals, with the choir present at Trinity Memorial Church in Binghamton.

The Rev. Dr. Renée Tembeckjian gives this beautiful dog a little ear rub along with his or her blessing at Trinity, Fayetteville.

Meanwhile, friendships were made…

The Rev. Jacqueline Schmitt, Priest-in-Charge at St. Matthew’s, Liverpool blessed several animals out on the front yard of the church.

The Rev. Bill Lutz blessed several animals in the sanctuary at St. Paul’s, Endicott.

At Grace Church, Copenhagen, The Rev. Holly Evans, takes a picture with parishioners in the sanctuary — both two and four – legged!

The Very Rev. David Hanselman gives this sweet pup a special blessing in the yard at Greene Zion Church.

At Christ Church, Jordan, a therapy dog was among the blessed by The Rev. Tom Margrave. Well deserved after all of the blessings he or she gives to others.

In Oneida, blessings were given to many well behaved pets, by the Rev. Nick Smith!

Unfortunately, our pets were not blessed by John Martinichio as The Messenger indicated as he was on sabbatical. The Rev. Bill Lutz blessed our pets.
