CNY Episcopal Churches Toll Bells for Las Vegas

Tuesday, October 3rd at noon, nearly thirty of the churches of the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York joined Episcopal churches nationwide in tolling churchbells for those who died in the October 2nd mass shooting in Las Vegas. The bells were rung one time for each life lost.

The Rt. Rev. Dr. DeDe Duncan-Probe, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York, invited all churches in the diocese to toll their bells in a show of solidarity with the people of Las Vegas and with the Rt. Rev. Dan Edwards, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Nevada. Edwards had asked his churches and churches nationwide to toll their bells at 9:00 a.m. (noon EST) on October 3rd.

“I ask your prayers for all who are suffering at this time, and all who are working to respond to this tragedy,” said Bishop Duncan-Probe. “Pray for God’s healing and justice in our nation.” Bishop DeDe also released a video statement immediately following the shooting on October 2nd.
