Each year, Bishop Duncan-Probe invites us to join in renewing our commitment to “a world healed by love” by making a year-end donation to the Bishop’s Contributors’ Fund. The Contributors’ Fund is one tool we have as a Diocese to empower ministers and respond to human suffering locally, globally, and across the church. Dear friends,
For it is the God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:6)
How will you remember 2020 in the years to come? A global pandemic, a reckoning with racism, division and partisanship: this was a year of many losses and significant grief. It was also a year in which we discovered that God’s faithfulness transcends our circumstances, healing our world with love.
In 2020, God’s love is building up our communities in ways we never could have imagined. We’ve tried new things, discovered fresh ways of engaging in ministry, and developed deeper connections with one another. We have been sustained in prayer, we’ve listened to understand, we’ve spoken truth, we’ve shared our stories of faith, and we’ve responded with all that we are and all that we have. While there have been challenges, we have offered companionship, food, clothing, and support: as God’s people together we are making a difference.
The Bishop’s Contributors’ Fund is one tool we have as the Diocese of Central New York to minister responsively and nimbly—locally, globally, and across the Church. It empowers me, as your bishop, to fund God’s mission, empower ministers, and relieve human suffering whenever we see it. I invite you to join me in responding to God’s grace by making a year-end donation, that our legacy in 2020 might be faithful generosity and affirmation of our shared commitment to our vision of “a world healed by love.”
