Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992: Re-building and Healing

On Thursday, February 11, 2021, Bishop DeDe Duncan-Probe joined the Syracuse Police Department’s new Community Engagement Director, Jimmy Oliver, and actress Patrese D. McClain for a panel discussion hosted by Syracuse Stage. The panel discussed Syracuse Stage’s current production of the docudrama Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992created in 1992 as a response to the assault on Rodney King and the subsequent unrest following the acquittal of four Los Angeles police officers charged in the attack.

Bishop Duncan-Probe shared her personal experience as a teacher in Los Angeles during that time, and panelists reflected on current police-community relationships.
