Diocese sends $50,000—and counting—for Ukraine Relief

On March 10th, Bishop DeDe Duncan-Probe, together with the Diocesan Board and the diocesan Global Mission Committee, initiated a matching gift initiative to encourage contributions for Episcopal Relief & Development’s humanitarian aid efforts with the people of Ukraine. Just sixteen days later, the people and parishes of the Diocese had contributed over $25,000, and this amount has been matched by the Diocese for a total of $50,000 from the Diocese of Central New York.

“I am so proud of the generous people of the Diocese of Central New York,” said Bishop DeDe Duncan-Probe. “We are living in to our commitment to Jesus’ Way of Love, which calls us to respond to the needs of others as we seek a world healed by love. Thank you.”

The generosity continues. Throughout the Diocese people and parishes are continuing to host fundraisers and gather offerings in support of the people of Ukraine.

We give thanks that we are able to give our support to our Ukraine Family as we all live together through these horrific times. We give thanks as we hold on supporting each other in “this fragile earth our island home.” Thank You Bishop DeDe for helping us be a part of that “great cloud of witnesses.” That never fades away.”
