Open Clergy Quiet Retreat Time for Rest, Respite, and Refreshment

June 27July 2

Free

This is an optional and free retreat opportunity for clergy of the Diocese of Central New York to experience rest and refreshment after a challenging year. Enjoy silent retreat time or participate in spiritually nourishing offerings on a variety of topics.

Thanks to a diocesan Ministry Grant, St. Margaret’s House in New Hartford is providing retreat time to individual clergy, free of charge, for up to three days and two nights. Clergy may attend as day or overnight guests during the sessions of their choosing, or may plan to enjoy their own silent retreat times without participating in the scheduled offerings. (Clergy may also take part in the free retreat time on their own at any point while funding lasts; see here for details.)

Sunday, June 27th: No program scheduled for this day

Monday, June 28th: The Practice of Sabbath: God, Self, and Community with the Rev. Jim Corl

Tuesday, June 29th: Connecting to God through the Creative Process with the Rev. Taylor Daynes

Wednesday, June 30th: The Wisdom of the Saints in These Changing Times with Bishop DeDe Duncan-Probe [Noonday Eucharist celebrated this day]

Thursday, July 1st: God and Creativity with the Rev. Canon Carrie Schofield-Broadbent

Friday, July 2nd: The Labyrinth: A Spiritual Path with the Rev. Deacon Barb Groves

Each day’s offerings are unique. There will be time for silence, in addition to the daily offerings by retreat leaders. We will follow the meal schedule of St. Margaret’s House. Though each day will be a bit different, we’ll keep this general flow:

8:30 a.m. Breakfast
9:30 a.m. First retreat session
12:00 p.m. Second retreat session
12:30 p.m. Lunch
5:00 p.m. Third retreat session
5:30 p.m. Dinner
After Dinner: Silence until the morning. There will be a place marked for quiet socializing/gathering for those who choose.

During sessions and worship, we will be following current diocesan COVID-19 guidelines for this gathering.

Meals: All attendees are served plated, homemade meals. Guests with specific dietary requirements: please note these when registering. All attendees are asked to wear masks when moving about in the dining room.
