The next District Leadership Day takes place at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ithaca on September 26. The event includes both Safe Church Training & Worship Leader Training:

Safe Church Training 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Worship Leader Training 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Safe Church

Congregational leaders and keyholders are required to update their Safe Church Training every five years. The churches who may register for this Distric Leadership Day are listed below and may Register here. Please contact Deb Denny with any questions regarding Safe Church.

Worship Leader Training

All new and current Lay Worship Leaders, please plan to attend, as the training and guidelines have been refreshed and updated. If you would like to be a new worship leader, please contact your clergy person or District Dean to complete the recommendation form on the diocesan web page. Whether a new or current leader, the following prerequisites must have been met:

Your Safe Church certification is up-to-date (training completed within the last five years). Download your transcript from Praesidium Academy to show your course completion and dates.

• You have been confirmed or received in The Episcopal Church
• You have received Holy Communion at least three times in the preceding year
• You have been faithful in corporate worship and in working, praying, and giving for the Kingdom of God in the past year and are therefore considered a “confirmed communicant in good standing,” (Canon I.17.2,3)

You may attend any or all of the training segments listed on the agenda below:

1:30 – 3:00 PM: Morning Prayer training & updates

3:00 – 3:15 PM: Break

3:15 – 3:45 PM: Reserved Sacrament Communion training & updates

3:45 – 4:30  PM: Eucharistic Visitor & Eucharistic Minister training
