Sacred Ground Circle—Online

October 25, 2022, 6:30 pm8:30 pm

Sacred Ground is The Episcopal Church’s film-and-readings-based small-group dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. Sacred Ground circles are forming all over the Diocese! If you haven’t participated in Sacred Ground yet, this may be the time to do so:

  • Our Diocese will be sponsoring a Sacred Ground pilgrimage in February 2023, visiting significant sites including the Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Alabama, and the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, the location of historic voting rights marches during the Civil Rights Movement. Participation in a Sacred Ground circle is excellent preparation for this pilgrimage.
  • In December 2023, our Diocese will welcome Presiding Bishop Michael Curry for a series of events, including a special gathering just for individuals who have participated in Sacred Ground.

If you’re looking to join a Sacred Ground circle, Karen Anderson (St. James’ Clinton) will host an online group this fall. The group will meet on Zoom every other Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. beginning October 11th. To join this group (limited to 12 participants) please contact Karen at karen.anderson1@icloud.com.

If this group’s schedule doesn’t work for you but you’re interested in connecting with Sacred Ground, please speak with your clergyperson, district dean, or contact Canon Tom Ferguson at tferguson@cnyepiscopal.org.
