Glenn Kime will perform a recital on one of his favorite organs sixty years to the day of the organ’s dedication by famed organist and organ designer Ernest White.
White designed this organ for his own use, as he moved from NYC to Syracuse to be music director at Church of the Saviour in 1962, to take advantage of the fine acoustics and beautiful worship space created by the Ralph Adams Cram design firm after a fire in 1910.
The program includes works by Bach, Brahms, Dupree, Dubois, and Craig Phillips.
This organ was also a favorite of Will Headlee, who played it at the 50th anniversary of the dedication, and during the Organ Historical Society Convention in 2014. The program will include Will’s written notes about his time as a student of Ernest White.
