The name Tenebrae (the Latin word for “darkness” or “shadows”) has for centuries been applied to the ancient monastic night and early morning services (Matins and Lauds) of the last three days of Holy Week, which in Mediaeval times came to be celebrated on the preceding evenings.
Please join us on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m., April 17th (Wednesday in Holy Week) for this ecumenical service of readings, plainchant, and candlelight. For more information, contact St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at (607) 687-2830 or visit the church website stpaulsowego.com.
