College for Congregational Development

The College for Congregational Development is an intensive and fun community learning experience for lay and clergy leaders. We're pleased to partner with our neighboring Diocese of Rochester for this offering.In 2021, pandemic permitting, the College will be offered in two formats: weeklong intensive or four weekends.

In our parishes, we pray for the people of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Horseheads and their priest, the Very Rev. Wanda Copeland, and the people of St. John's Episcopal Church in Ithaca and their priest, the Very Rev. Megan Castellan. In our Companion Diocese of El Salvador, we pray for the escuelas dominicales (Sunday Schools) in all the churches, and their teachers and students. In The Episcopal Church, we pray for the people of the Diocese of Southwest Florida and their bishop, the Rt. Rev. Dabney Smith, and for their new Bishop Coadjutor elected yesterday. In the Anglican Communion, we pray for the people of the Church of Nigeria and their prime bishop, the Most Rev. Henry C. Ndukuba.

Holy Eucharist with Renewal of Vows and Blessing of the Oil for Chrismation (Christ Church, Binghamton)

Held annually during or just prior to Holy Week, this service led by our Bishop is a celebration of our shared ministry. Lay and clergy alike are invited to share in Holy Eucharist and a renewal of our baptismal and (for clergy) ordination vows. Bishop Duncan-Probe will also consecrate the Chrism (oil used for anointing the newly baptized) and bless oil for anointing.

In our Companion Diocese of El Salvador, we pray for all the faithful of El Salvador on this Easter Day. In The Episcopal Church, we pray for the people of the Diocese of Spokane and their bishop, the Rt. Rev. Gretchen M. Rehberg. In the Anglican Communion, we pray for the people of the Church of Pakistan and their moderator, the Rt. Rev. Azad Marshall. We also join the worldwide Anglican Communion in praying for the Peace of Jerusalem on this Easter Sunday. And we pray for the Rev. Meredith Kadet Sanderson, who will be ordained to the priesthood on Saturday, April 23rd.
