Wonder In All

A Literary and Art Journal by the People of the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York

Wonder in All is seeking submissions of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and visual art that represent the lives and experiences of Episcopalians living in the diocese of Central New York. Submissions need not directly reference Christianity, the Church, or God but should be thematically connected to the Christian experience.

  • Non-fiction: we accept theological reflections, sermons, and meditations between 1,000 to 4,000 words.
  • Fiction: short stories between 1,000 and 4,000 words. No novel excerpts will be considered.
  • Poetry: poems up to 100 lines will be accepted.
  • Visual art: any other art that can be represented visually will be considered. Visual art in sequence (such as graphic fiction or a photo series) will be considered up to six pages.

All are welcome in the Episcopal Church, and so all are welcome to offer their work to Wonder in All. We especially seek submissions that, per our baptismal prayer for “joy and wonder in all God’s words”, approach the world from a place of loving inquiry.

Wonder in All will be published online bi-annually. You’ll be able to access them for free here on the diocesan website. Our first issue will be released on June 1, 2024. Submissions for this issue is May 15, 2024. Please note that we reserve the right to format any submission as needed, unless otherwise specified. When emailing a submission, please include your name (or pen name) and any other biographical information you wish to share. If you are part of a parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York, please consider listing that parish as well.

Please email all submissions to: wonder@cnyepiscopal.org

Publishing Rights and Payment: Wonder in All is a not-for-profit journal and has no budget to offer any remuneration for submissions. Rights to all submission remain with the artist who created the art originally and a work published here may be published elsewhere if the artist so desires.

AI: No submissions created with artificial intelligence will be considered.

Disclaimer: Wonder in All and its contents do not represent the opinion or specific teaching of the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York. Although we seek to publish within the diocese, we are an independent entity devoted to the arts and to the work of God in Jesus Christ in this world.
