In 1974, a group of 11 women and their supporters organized their ordination to become Episcopal priests in an act of civil disobedience. This story is told in a compelling new documentary, The Philadelphia Eleven. This documentary covers a profound time of change for the whole church, as well as our local diocese. There will be time after the movie to discuss your own memories of this time, as well as talk about how we as a church have addressed sexism and how we still can improve.
Come see this documentary with us in Auburn, Binghamton, or Watertown on Saturday, January 13, at 10am with conversation and Q&A to follow. This event is free, but you are asked to register in advance to help us plan and to form small groups for discussion.
