Mark your calendars for the annual diocesan gathering at St. Paul’s in Paris Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, the eve of the Feast of David P. Oakerhater. Oak-uh-hat-uh, as he was called in his native language, was a Cheyenne man who trained as a deacon at St. Paul’s in the 1870s.
We’ll gather first in the St. Paul’s Cemetery behind the building to ask God’s blessing on the repaired Oakerhater gravestones. Then we’ll move into the church building where Bishop DeDe will celebrate Holy Communion.
