ORGANIST SEARCH

Zion Episcopal Church is seeking an organist/pianist for our 9 am Sunday services. A musician experienced in the music of the Episcopal Church would be greatly appreciated. We have a 1976 tracker organ by Noack (pictured to the left) and a Baldwin concert grand piano, and we often use both or either instrument for services. Presently we have no choir, but would like to have a musician include that in the position. The organist position includes: being responsible for the choosing of all the Sunday hymns, and service music, writing a monthly article for the parishes monthly newsletter, attending at least one monthly meeting of Worship Committee to ensure continuity of music presentation, maintaining a schedule of regular semi-annual repair and tuning of the organ and 3 pianos, maintaining and ordering all music. Music planning and coordination, both liturgical and no-liturgical, will be collaborative with the Rector the Wardens. The Episcopal Musicians Handbook will be used to plan all service music, choral responses and hymns. All music for weddings and funerals will be the responsibility of the Organist.
