Cursillo is a ministry of the Episcopal Church, endorsed by Presiding Bishop Michael Curry and diocesan bishops throughout the country. Its goal is to empower Christian leaders to live out their baptismal covenant, using whatever gifts the Holy Spirit has given them.
Cursillo is a Spanish word meaning “short course”. It is a short course in Christian Living, not Christianity.
The weekend (Friday evening through Sunday evening) consists of lay and clergy team members who share their experiences in spiritual growth with men and women who have registered. The team members give 15 talks on topics such as faith, ideals, piety, study, action, community, etc. There is plenty of time for discussion, music, laughter, relaxation, encouragement, great food and friendship. It is an example of how to live as a Christian
community that can be passed on after the weekend is over.
The next weekend will happen May 3-5, 2024 at Casowasco Retreat Center in Moravia, NY. The cost is $190 which covers meals and lodging. A limited amount of scholarship aid is available. For more info or to register, contact Kathy Kaufman (315) 767-2822, Barb Bridenbaker (315)760-1554, or Terri Weir (607) 226-1057.
